Call for Interns & Volunteers: Be the Jake
Reporting to and working closely with the Director, Jacob Lawrence Gallery Interns and Volunteers help to generate and oversee all aspects of gallery programming. Art students will benefit from hands-on learning of exhibition practice and art handling; Art History students will gain insight into curatorial practice, research and exhibition production; Design students will contribute to the production of collateral, publications, marketing materials, website and social media presence. This internship is offered quarterly for credits, and/or on a volunteer basis.
Intern and volunteer hours are flexible, with a minimum of a 6 hour per week. Must be available for some evening and weekend hours.
How to Apply
Applications for internship positions are due two weeks prior to the beginning of each quarter. Applications to volunteer are always welcome. Paid stipend positions are only offered to individuals who have either volunteered or interned for credits with the gallery for at least one quarter. To apply, please provide a letter of interest with a brief biography, and writing, design, and/or work samples to the Director, Emily Zimmerman (zimmee3 at uw dot edu).
